Hi! I’m Emma :3
Yes I know, the veil has been lifted… I unfortunately am not a cute little 2D bunny. I am a human girl who changes her hair color every few months, alas.
Moxy the bunny actually started one slow autumn evening as I was working a hostess job, bored out of my mind. I started doodling on the back of one of my restaurant’s holiday catering ads that we were supposed to be handing out to customers, but as I stated previously, it was mind-numbingly slow. What I didn’t realize as I stood there at 19 years old was just how significant this little bunny I scribbled down would become to me.
During this time, I was going to OCC and had not too long before made the shocking discovery that I didn’t think I was totally cut out to be a biochemistry major— what!? I wonder, was it the crying before chemistry lecture that gave it away? I sat down with my parents and they helped me realize that art was totally possible for me, afterall I always raved to them about how much I loved my high school ceramics class, and I was the only senior who took it a second time in my class. I grew up very artsy as a little girl, but as sports in middle school and high school grew more time-consuming, and an evil ex-boyfriend told me art was a hobby not a career path, I had almost altogether forgotten this part of myself.
After animation classes, graphic design and advertising courses, ceramics, and even screen printing, I graduated from CSULB with my studio arts degree in the spring of 2024! I took 2 ceramics studio classes during my Cal State schooling and thought to myself damn I wanna do this every day; so in the winter of 2024 I asked for a pottery wheel for my birthday. I started making projects but after a year of trekking to different ceramic studios to get my projects fired, I asked for a kiln for my next birthday. I have now been completely operating in my garage as a little pottery studio of one!
And thus Moxybuns was born <3
